BI WORLDWIDE's Recognition PURL Creates a Personalized Experience to Engage Employees

BI WORLDWIDE, a global business improvement company, recently launched the Recognition PURL, a patent-pending employee recognition tool that’s social, global, mobile and personal The Recognition PURL combines manager, social engagement and multi-media tools, such as photos, videos and comments, to celebrate special achievements.

“The Recognition PURL is unique because it provides a personalized experience that can be shared publically on social networks,” said John O’Brien, vice president of the employee performance group at BI WORLDWIDE. The Recognition PURL is simple for managers to use and provides a positive, long-lasting impact on employees, at work and in their personal lives.

How it Works
First, a personalized URL (PURL) website is created specifically for the person receiving the recognition. Next, coworkers, family and friends populate the PURL with content that recognizes and celebrates the achievement. When the PURL is ready, managers share it with recipients. Recipients then can view the contributions, print their PURL, redeem an award (through points to buy merchandise in the company catalog), send thank you notes to contributors and share their PURL on social media sites.

“This is a great tool for managers to use when celebrating key milestone achievements, such as employee service anniversaries, retirement and sales recognition,” O’Brien said. The Recognition PURL bridges the gap between work and home, connecting coworkers, friends and family across the globe in a way that’s never been done before.

BI WORLDWIDE recently used the Recognition PURL with a large, multinational technology firm that wanted to recognize and reward their top performers. The launch was a success, with nearly 9,000 top performers recognized globally for their performance. Approximately 34,000 PURL contributions also were received.
