HRCI Announces Expansion of Spanish-Language Exams for HR and non-HR Professionals Seeking Credentials Around the World

ALEXANDRIA, Va., August 3, 2018 — To meet the demand in Spanish-speaking markets for certifications that recognize human resource management excellence — at all career levels — HR Certification Institute (HRCI) today announced an expanded offering of Spanish-translated exams across its full suite of international credentials.

In addition to offering Spanish-language exams for its Professional in Human Resources – International (PHRi) and Senior Professional in Human Resources – International (SPHRi) certifications, HRCI now offers Spanish-language exams for candidates seeking to earn the Associate Professional in Human Resources – International (aPHRi), a certification that demonstrates foundational HR and people management knowledge on the international stage. HR and non-HR professionals, including students and those who are transitioning into HR, are eligible to earn the aPHRi.

“Spanish-language exams provide more international opportunities for professionals to earn HRCI certifications that help people and organizations excel,” said HRCI CEO Amy S. Dufrane, Ed.D., SPHR, CAE. “We are pleased to pilot this option to professionals — anywhere in the world — who would prefer to be tested in Spanish.”

Professionals who want to take the aPHRi, PHRi or SPHRi exams in Spanish, can apply on the HRCI website and select the Spanish exam option when scheduling their testing appointment with Pearson VUE after their application has been approved.

HRCI is also working with international organizations, such as Universidad Panamericana, at its Mexico campus, to provide certification preparation courses for students and professionals. The university plans to offer the aPHRi exam as a capstone course for its HR degree. Universidad Panamericana will also make the aPHRi, PHRi and SPHRi available to alumni and students interested in showcasing their people management skills.

“HRCI is recognized and respected for world-leading certifications that demonstrate excellence in optimizing people and organizations,” said Luis Hernán Orellana, Administration and Human Resource Degree Director at Universidad Panamericana. “HRCI certifications are a natural extension of our HR-focused curriculum at Universidad Panamericana. We look forward to working with HRCI to develop the next generation of international leaders.”

The aPHRi is the world’s first certification to recognize foundational knowledge of international HR and people management excellence. The aPHRi is perfect for students, those who are new to HR or those who are transitioning into the HR profession. The aPHRi is also valuable for non-HR people managers who want to develop and showcase their knowledge of HR practices that help companies avoid risks and maximize people performance.

For experienced international HR professionals, the PHRi is earned by demonstrating expertise in generally accepted technical and operational HR principles as determined by global research. The SPHRi is earned by more experienced international HR leaders who can demonstrate expertise of generally accepted HR principles in strategy, policy development and service delivery.
